She has proved that she is top talent many times.  One instance includes being recognized as the pinnacle of talent in the State of New Mexico as determined by a statewide talent competition early in 2011.  In this competition known as The Santa Ana Star Search, over 250 individuals from all over the state entered with hopes to be known as one of the most talented in the Southwest.  She made it through the initial round into the top 27 by achieving the most watched and voted for audition video.  Kathryn rocked the preliminary round by knocking off 18 others including 2 accomplished American Idol contestants. She made the top 9 out of 250 plus contestants. Kathryn finished a finalist and won a $2,000 dollar prize!

A unique thing about her is that she is recognized across the southwest for her musical talent, personality, and energy. She has been involved in many highly honorable occasions one being The Miss Albuquerque & Miss Rio Rancho for Miss America Pageants. Kathryn was invited to be a judge for the pageants because of her musical experience. Not just anyone can be a judge for these pageants, only those who are well known, significant, and considered iconic. Her presence was so strong, she was asked to guest perform at the pageants.

Kathryn Soapes has performed all over the southwest at countless events! Many events, concerts, and performances include festivals, charity functions, sports events, and various others! Some of her notable performances include opening up for Country Star Steve Holy, Disney Hannah Montana's Mitchell Musso, Teen Sensation Jordan Pruitt, and The Jonas Brothers!

Her love of entertainment also leads to her involvement in Full Length Feature Movies, Radio, and TV. She has been showcased on New Mexico Cable Channels in shows and commercials. She has been a guest radio host on Big-I 107.9 KBQI-FM with the weekday morning show “Tony Lynn & Myles” and on ESPN Radio 101.7 The Team KQTM-FM on the weekday afternoon drive-home show “The Locker Room with Bob Brown” and “Chalk Talk with Andres T” as well as being a guest host on Radio Disney AM 1240 KALY. Movies she has been in include Disney's "Lemonade Mouth" with Disney Star Bridgit Mendler and "MacGruber” with Hollywood Stars including Will Forte, Val Kilmer, Ryan Philippe, & Kristen Wigg.

She was born in Davenport, Iowa and grew up in Albuquerque, NM. She grew up a typical kid, playing with friends, & going to school. Growing up, she always wanted to be a singer, “and that’s what I’m doing.” She explains how tough it is to pursue a dream of singing. “There have always been challenges, but with each and everyone I get stronger and more determined!” She graduated from La Cueva High School in 2007 and attended The University of New Mexico.

Kathryn’s family is musically proficient and she says, “I have a pedigree to live up to!” Her late uncle Rex was a wonderful musician whom played the trombone for many musicians, artists, and bands including: Johnny Cash, Louis Armstrong, Gene Autry, The King of Siam, Benny Goodman, Danny Davis and The Nashville Brass, Gene Krupa, The Statler Bros. and many more! Her grandmother sang with the ever famous Andy Williams, her mother is an accomplished pianist, and she has an uncle who is a concert pianist in Germany. “I have a lot to live up to, even though I want to take a more contemporary approach to music.”

Giving back and being charitable is a major part of Kathryn’s life. She supports and performs without any compensation for many organizations. These organizations include The American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, The ALS Association, The Sounds of New Mexico Benefit Concert to Benefit Children’s Cancer Fund of NM, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and others. She is a big supporter of the United States troops as her older brother who is a Major and an Army Ranger, has served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
